Drinks at The Royal Yew

Real Ales, Fine Wines & Local Spirits from the Heart of Cumbria

At the heart of our bar is Loweswater Gold, a local favourite that's rarely off the pumps, alongside a regularly changing guest ale that keeps things interesting for regulars and visitors alike. Alongside these you'll find a rotating selection of stouts, pale ales, ciders and lagers sourced from around the world, so there's always something new to try.

We know not everyone can drink on tap and miss out, which is why we're pleased to offer gluten free options on draught, a rarity for a pub of our size. For those cutting back or avoiding alcohol altogether, our range of 0% options by the bottle means nobody has to settle for a soft drink out of necessity.

Our wine list comes courtesy of Corney & Barrow, one of the oldest independent wine merchants in the country, established in 1780 and known for a portfolio that's largely exclusive to them. It's a serious list for a village pub, spanning everyday drinking wines through to more special bottles worth lingering over. The full range is available to browse and buy from Shill's of Cockermouth's wine shop, our sister business, whether you've enjoyed a glass here and want to take a bottle home or you're stocking up for your own table.

Beyond the taps and the wine list, we carry a well-stocked back bar: single malt whiskies, gins, vodkas and liqueurs to round off a meal or start an evening at the bar.
