Gather your friends, family or colleagues for a festive get-together at The Royal Yew in Dean, near Workington. Our Christmas Party Menu is packed with seasonal favourites made with fresh, local produce, from house smoked duck and hot honey pigs in blankets to roast turkey with all the trimmings and our gigantic Yorkshire puddings.
The Christmas Party Menu is available from Monday 30th November 2026, priced at £27.50 for 2 courses or £36.50 for 3 courses.
Starters
Smoked Salmon & Spiced Slaw
Smoked Atlantic salmon, served with a spiced celeriac coleslaw and garnished with fresh leaves. (GF)
House Smoked Duck
Barbary duck breast, smoked at our sister spot Shill’s of Cockermouth, with roasted beetroot and rocket. (GF)
Hot Honey Pigs in Blankets
Cumbrian pigs in blankets covered in a hot honey and wholegrain mustard glaze. (GF)
Roast Parsnip & Rosemary Soup

Roast Turkey
Turkey breast served alongside Cumbrian pigs in blankets, homemade sage stuffing, roast potatoes, mashed potato, fresh seasonal vegetables, pan gravy and The Royal Yew’s gigantic Yorkshire puddings. (GFA)
Wild Venison Casserole
Chunks of wild venison and root vegetables, cooked low and slow in a red wine and silverskin onion gravy, served with mashed potatoes and fresh seasonal vegetables. (GF)
Woodland Mushroom & Brie Wellington
Mushrooms, spinach and sautéed onions, topped with melted brie in a golden puff pastry, served with mashed potato, fresh seasonal vegetables and a red wine gravy. (V)
Cumbrian Roast Beef
Cumbrian silverside of beef, served alongside roast potatoes, mashed potato, fresh seasonal vegetables, pan gravy and The Royal Yew’s gigantic Yorkshire puddings. (GFA)
